The Data, Studies and Research Center is responsible for preparing technical studies and research on the projects and works of the Agency, and collecting and classifying the necessary data on them, and in particular the following:
- Collecting data, studies and research prepared for the project, analyzing it, and drawing conclusions reached by studies and research.
- Preparing the necessary economic and technical studies and research to complete the project.
- Carrying out surveys, research and technical studies, including economic feasibility studies related to establishing and developing projects related to the activities of the agency.
- Carrying out the necessary studies to estimate the project’s needs of water wells and their maintenance programs.
- Preparing studies, drawings and engineering designs for the projects and preparing contract documents for their implementation in coordination with the concerned departments.
- Preparing studies related to any changes to the environment through the exploitation of groundwater.
- Completing data and information on water quality and preparing reports and studies that would control and monitor water quality.
The Data, Studies and Research Center consists of 2 departments as follows:
1- Department of data, studies and engineering research:
Whereas, the duties and responsibilities of the department are:
- Technical and administrative supervision of the center's work.
- Establish programs, plans and research projects and related studies in order to solve scientific and applied problems.
- Establishing a mechanism, in cooperation with the scientific bodies at home and abroad, to contribute to conducting the required research and studies.
- Work to highlight and publish the results of research and studies carried out by the Center and disseminate their results.
- Preparing the project of the estimated budget for the center's work and the budgets for research and emergency studies.
2- Department of Water Resources Studies:
Whereas, the duties and responsibilities of the department are:
- Study, assess, and give advice on issues related to the field of water resources.
- Preparing studies and research and drafting contracts and agreements related to the field of water resources.
- Pursue studies and research related to the field of water resources to benefit from them in developing the completion of the work assigned to the center.
- Participating in technical committees to study issues related to the field of specialization.
- Participation in scientific conferences and seminars inside and outside the Libyan state.
