Al-Kufra – Tazerbo

Al-Kufra – Tazerbo

This link aims to transport (1.68 million) cubic meters of water daily from the Kufra well field through a 385 km prestressed concrete pipeline to the connection point on the Tazerbo –Sarir line in order to increase the quantities of water produced from the project to feed the Al-Jabal Al Akhdar area and Al Batnaan through The (Ajdabiya - Tobruk) System, as well as increasing the water supply to the (Al-Hasouna / Sahel Jefara) System through the (Al-Ghardabiyah / Assdada) link, as the main line was implemented with a high completion rate, and the rest of the system's work is in the process of completing the contracting procedures.
The main components of the system can be summarized as follows:
• (300) production wells and (14) monitoring wells
• Main water transmission line with a length of 385 km (prestressed concrete pipes).
Concrete structures and valves.
Cathodic Protection System
Dirt roads.
• A wellfield operation and maintenance support center.
• A flow control station and regulating reservoirs on the linkage system and developing Sarir control valve.
• a Communication and Control System.
• Sub-power stations and lines for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy in the well field.
(3) Pumping Stations on the System (Sarir/ Sirt -Tazerbo / Benghazi) and the (Al-Hasouna / Sahel Jefara) System.
The implementation work for projects with this connection started at the beginning of 2009. All works are considered to be suspended as of February 17, 2011 due to the exit of contractors and as a result of the damages suffered
